Taking care of a computer isn’t always easy. And it’s often the case that the more powerful the computer the harder this task can become. This idea can seem perplexing at first. People often think of higher-end models as an example of seamless integration. And it’s true that can be the case. But one should also keep in mind that computers are quite different from something like cars or hiking equipment. One of the most important things about a computer is adaptability and configuration options. Likewise, performance is always imperative as well. This can lead to continual development and changes in a computer’s underlying infrastructure.

One of the big reasons is that it’s heavily tied to video gaming and video processing. Both of these tend to use mathematical algorithms in inventive and unique ways. In practical terms, this means that people need to keep the device driver for this and similar boards up to date. But how should one go about the process? In general, one is best served by going to the actual companies in question for drivers. The motherboard itself should receive driver updates from Asus. However, there are additional factors to consider.
One should keep in mind the prior note about video processing and gaming. The reason why this is important to keep in mind is that it will probably also make use of a separate graphics card. This board, and similar items, do come with onboard video processing and output. However, it’s fairly rudimentary. This is more about ensuring the BIOS always has something to work with. And of course, so that people not interested in anything related to the video aren’t spending extra for something they won’t use.
Those people who are interested will be able to take advantage of the faster connection speeds the board provides with a video card. The drivers for the system which enables that will come from Asus. But the drivers for the video card itself will come from whatever company manufactures it. For example, if one uses a video card from NVIDIA than one would use drivers from them.
Because of the need for continual updates, most graphics card manufacturers have programs to handle updates. The update program will usually tell someone that new drivers are available. They might even download and install the drivers in the background. This also tends to come with optimizations for particular games.
Motherboards have a similar relation to onboard audio. One will find the basics there. And this will be enough for basic audio playback or even editing. But someone who needs more power can use a separate addition. And they’ll also want to use their vendor’s site for the specific drivers.
In general, Windows itself should do a good job of keeping other drivers up to date. The only caveat is that automatic updating needs to be enabled. But given that most versions of Windows have this enabled by default it shouldn’t be much of an issue. Other than that one might need to occasionally check to ensure that there aren’t any BIOS updates that need installing. A BIOS is such an integral part of the computer that very few companies integrate those updates into their products. Most motherboards require a separate type of installation to install BIOS rather than OS-level drivers.
